Bud is weakening and becoming increasingly disorganized in the Pacific just off Mexico.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami said Saturday that Bud had degenerated to a remnant low. It was expected to dissipate within the next day or say.

Maximum sustained winds had weakened significantly and were near 30 mph (48 kph) as the storm hovered about 15 miles (24 kilometers) off the coast of Cabo Corrientes, Mexico.

Forecasters say the storm could still drop another inch or two of rain along Mexico's southwestern coast.

Bud had brought driving rain earlier Saturday, leaving emergency officials on high alert for flooding and mudslides.

The Golden Gate Bridge, service on 75 years

On May 27, 1937, the public for the first time could drive, walk, or bicycle directly from San Francisco to Marin County in the north. Now, 110,000 cars pass over the bridge a day.

It's one of the wonders of the world, and one of the most photographed things on the planet. And this Sunday, the Golden Gate Bridge turns 75.

While New York may have dozens of world-famous landmarks, and Paris is, well, Paris, San Francisco -- a great city in its own right -- may be best known for its outstanding red bridge, a masterpiece of workmanship that connects the city to its northern neighbor, Marin County.

In the late 1800s, the only way to cross the Golden Gate was by ferry, and those who ran the local vessels were among the region's elite. But starting in the late 1860s, there began to be calls for a bridge. And in 1872, railroad tycoon Charles Crocker told the Marin County Board of Supervisors that plans and cost estimates had been prepared for a suspension bridge that would span the strait and that could carry passengers and rail cars.

The die was cast. In 1916, ten years after the devastating earthquake that leveled San Francisco, San Francisco Call Bulletin editor James Wilkins publicly proposed a design for a bridge crossing the strait. But World War I was on, and the public's attention was elsewhere, according to a history of the bridge put together by the Golden Gate Bridge Highway & Transportation District.

On May 23, 1923, California's legislature passed the Golden Gate Bridge and Highway District Act of California. This enabled the creation of new district that would build what eventually came to be known as the Golden Gate Bridge. And on December 9, 1929, less than two months after the start of the Great Depression, twin dedication ceremonies were held, one in San Francisco, and one in Marin, to mark the commencement of borings for the new bridge tower piers. As chief engineer Joseph Strauss put it at the time, "This is a day of big projects, and the building of the Golden Gate Bridge ranks among the biggest."

The pace of building such a project is slow, of course, and it took until 1930 for the U.S. War Department to finally issue a permit for the construction of the bridge. It would have a 4,200-foot main span, and vertical clearances of 220 feet at its midspan and 210 feet at its sidespans, according to the bridge history document.

They had a fine team performance throughout the season as they were defeated on just five occasions in 16 matches and this team spirit shone out in their playoff performance as all but one of their six batsmen scored at least 24 runs as they set 162 for Delhi to chase. Will we see another fine team performance from Knight Riders to secure their first ever IPL title?

The sides have already met twice this season and they have a win apiece with both games being tight matches. The Knight Riders won the first game by five wickets as they reached 140 runs with just two balls remaining, while the Super Kings triumphed second time around on the last ball of the match. I feel that this game will also be a tight game and could go either way. In fact I think that it’ll be so close that I’m not confident of backing either side, but I do have a bet in mind. KKR Vs CSK in IPL2012 Final

The grand finale of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2012) is just hours away now and speculations, match previews and experts’ analysis are pouring on.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) qualified in third consecutive IPL final beating Mumbai Indians (MI) and Delhi Daredevils (DD) in ‘eliminator’ and second qualifier respectively. They produced extraordinary performances in both of these matches which hugely contrast their lethargic approach on the league stages, which led them on the brink of early elimination but Bangalore’s upset defeat in the hands of Deccan Chargers (DC) proved a lifeline for Chennai.

Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has been selling air tickets at its website since May 6, 2010 as a white label arrangement with a backend content provider. However, now IRCTC has launched air ticketing website on its own since May 7, 2012. This initiative has been taken to improve customer satisfaction and provide a seamless passenger movement over various modes of transport. IRCTC has developed in house air ticketing module for booking tickets for domestic and international airlines through website irctc.co.in and railtourismindia.com.

IRCTC now has directly entered into agreement with the major airlines and the low cost carries in the country like Air India, Jet Airways, Kingfisher, Spicejet, Indigo and Go Air. Initially, the customer will be able to book tickets for these airlines for domestic travel and later the international airlines for international travel.

This information was given by the Minister of State for Railways, Shri Bharatsinh Solanki in a written reply in Rajya Sabha today.

The adult film actress who is her own living porn empire slammed into the wrong kind of hard pole this morning as Jenna Jameson was involved in a single car accident when her ride struck a light pole.

Sources with TMZ say that Jameson showed signs of possibly being intoxicated and that cops on the scene initiated a field sobriety test. Jenna was subsequently arrested for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI.

Jenna did suffer minor injuries at the crash but refused any medical treatment. She has since been released from custody.

Post the success of "Dabangg", Sonakshi Sinha maintained a low profile and stayed away from media glare. She says it was not intentional as she was working non-stop during that period.

"It was not intentional. I don't think anything that I do is intentional...It is just a coincidence as some films got delayed due to whatever reasons," Sonakshi told reporters here, adding that her second release "Rowdy Rathore" is coming before time.

"In fact, 'Rowdy Rathore' is releasing early...I have no complaints that I was not seen on screen for one-and-half years as I was busy shooting for all the films that I signed, doing advertisements and shows. So I have been working non-stop. Workwise it has been a good year-and-half for me," she added.

"Rowdy Rathore", directed by Prabhu Deva, will see Sonakshi romancing Akshay Kumar. It hits the screens June 1.

The 24-year-old has five major films in her kitty right now. Sonakshi said: "I feel I am blessed. I love what I do and I look forward to doing that every single day. If I have one-two day gap in between, I think what to do? I feel I am lucky-I am doing 'Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2', 'Joker', 'Dabangg 2', 'Son Of Sardar' and 'Lootera'." Acting happened by chance to her.

"I thought I will never do any movies. I did not know that I would end up doing movies. I feel it is all due to destiny, I don't think there is anything else. I was studying fashion and was almost on the verge of becoming a designer, but acting happened by chance to me. But when a film like 'Dabangg' is offered to you, you can't say no," she said.

The actress gives credit to her "Dabangg" co-star Salman Khan for encouraging her to become an actress.

"The credit absolutely goes to Salman. He always encouraged me. When I was studying fashion, at that time he used to tell me leave all this and become an actress. I was like very huge (overweight) that time and used to ask him how can you see an actress in me? He encouraged me to become fit and join the film industry. I will always be thankful to him," she said.

Star India’s and Aamir Khan’s much awaited show, Satyamev Jayate, was launched on May 6 in the 11am Sunday slot. The show was shrouded in mystery even after a teaser press conference and launch promos, and it was finally launched and telecast across nine channels including Doordarshan – a first-of-its-kind experiment. Also, it was dubbed in three southern languages.

Now, with the first ratings of the show coming out, it’s time to analyse whether the show has managed to really touch India’s heart. After the first two episodes, which focused on female foeticide and child sexual abuse, there has been impact, says the channel.

“The Madhya Pradesh government terminated the licences of 64 maternity clinics in Bhopal, while in Rajasthan, the licences of five sonography clinics in Jaipur were suspended. The Rajasthan Chief Justice has also okayed the setting up of a fastrack court for settling the sting operation cases showcased in the first episode, which recorded an overall 4.1 Television Rating (TVR),” says an official from the channel.

“The second episode too has had similar impact, with victims of child sexual abuse coming out on public forums like radios and the online media, to talk about the exploitation they faced. The NGO Childline has got thousands of calls from people reaching out to them,” adds the official.

With the way it’s progressing, it seems that the show is choosing topics carefully, picking hard-hitting issues which affect people’s lives. While it remains to be seen whether the show will be able to sustain the emotions it has generated, the first two episodes did dominate the social media space immediately after their telecast.

CSK won against Bangalore because of excellent contributions from the middle order. MS Dhoni once again played a typical `MSD’ innings. He got excellent support from Dwayne Bravo, but what helped CSK win the contest was their fielding.
