Sunny Deol's Interview After Esha Deol's Marriage

Doosra: Congratulations Sunny. It must have been an emotional moment. A true Bade Bhaiyya's responsibility.

Sunny: Oh yes! But Papaji and Bobby also worked hard. And of course Hema ji.

Doosra: Hope everything went well?

Sunny: Well, almost. Pandal was good, food was great. Just don't know how some stray dogs, well, strayed into the pandal.

Doosra: Stray dogs!

Sunny: Balwant Rai ke kutteyyyyy.....

Doosra: Please, calm down, please!

Sunny: I'm sorry, got emotional. What were we discussing?

Doosra: That some dogs had strayed into Esha's wedding.

Sunny: Yes. Strange, despite having Papaji there. He even screamed that line from Sholay - "Kuttey, kaminey mai tera khoon pee jaunga" and most dogs ran for their life.

Doosra: Hope it was not a serious problem.

Sunny: Two dogs refused to leave. Hema ji was supposed to dance late in the evening which had to be cancelled.

Doosra: Why?

Sunny: Papaji got emotional and screamed again "Basanti, in kutto ke samne mat nachna!". You know how he is. Waise I'm no less emotional. I saw the tubewell and suddenly became Gadar's Tara Singh. I screamed "Humara Hindustan zindabad tha, zindabad hai aur zindabad rahega" and uprooted the tubewell.

Doosra: Good lord! What happened then?

Sunny: Half the baaratis fled from the scene and we had to apologise to bring them back. And when they returned, it could have been another crisis because I had uprooted the tubewell, which was the only source of drinking water!

Doosra: Oh boy! So how you managed that?

Sunny: Hema ji intervened. She immediately got 25 Kent water purifiers there, 23 of which she sold to the baraatis.

Doosra: Well, sounds quite eventful. But these are minor glitches, happen in every marriage.

Sunny: I guess so. We also ran out of paneer and rushed to nearest shop to buy more. Guess what? They had a balance but no stone. Fortunately I was there and solved the problem.

Doosra: How?

Sunny: You silly. Everyone knows I have dhaai-kilo-wala haat. We needed 5 kg paneer. So I put both arms on one side and they weighed paneer on the other. Dimple! I mean simple!

Doosra: Got the point, got the point. Must say it was an extraordinary marriage. Thanks for your time, it was pleasure talking to you.

P.S. Those interested in facts (god knows what they get out of it) Sunny & Bobby Deol were reportedly unsighted within 100km of Esha's marriage)

news for Flag Day 2012 : Celebration , .....Differently each country

NORTH STONINGTON, Conn. (NNS) -- Commander, Submarine Group 2 spoke at a Flag Day celebration at Wheeler Middle School in North Stonington, Conn., June 14.

Nearly 100 Wheeler Middle School middle school students, faculty and community members attended the celebration to pay tribute to Flag Day.

"Flag Day is about who we are as Americans, a symbol of our country," said Rear Adm. Rick Breckenridge, commander, Submarine Group 2. "This day lets us take a moment to reflect on what it is to be good New Englanders, good American patriots. In each generation the men and women have stood up and answered the call to defend our flag."

During his speech, Breckenridge shared a story of how Francis Scott Key, an attorney, negotiated the exchange of prisoners while aboard a British troopship. Key witnessed the American flag being fired upon while it was flying gallantly over Fort McHenry.

"During the final battle even though every gun was drawn and fired on the flag, it still stood. The guns raged throughout the night and, as Key later described, the rockets red glare and bombs bursting in air gave proof through the night that our flag was still there," said Breckenridge.

D-Day looms in bitter Cuba-US rum trademark war

There was the Cold War, the Bay of Pigs and the Cuban Missile Crisis, and there is still no end in sight to U.S.-Cuban animosity.

Now a bitter dispute over a sweet-tasting spirit appears to be nearing an end game after more than a decade of legal wrangling.

Time and again U.S. courts have ruled against Cuba in its fight to control the U.S. rights to the trademark Havana Club,

the island's flagship rum brand that is sold in more than 120 countries around the world -- but not in the United States.

By mid-June, Cuba could lose all chance of pressing its legal claims against Bacardi, which distributes a limited quantity of its own Havana Club rum in Florida and says it plans to expand to other U.S. states in the near future.

Indignant over what it considers wholesale piracy of a national icon, Cuba accuses the U.S. of using an under-the-radar maneuver to block Cuba from paying the small trademark renewal fee, and has raised its concerns at increasingly high levels of government. If the trademark expires, Cuba says it could retaliate on U.S. trademarks currently protected on the island.

D day - Dough Day on June 5th

I officially declare today, June 5th, National Cookie Dough Day.

I don’t know if there is an official process for declaring such things, but I figure you all would support me in my cause. Let’s celebrate, shall we?

Hard to believe that just over 15 months ago I got this inkling of an idea in my head… and that would lead us to where we are today. It’s here, it’s here! Excuse me while I jump up and down a few times.

World Environment Day - till that day

Over 300 dams are planned on its various tributaries to generate electricity for a power-hungry nation.

The Dhari Devi temple faces an uneasy future. The 330 megawatt Alaknanda dam may submerge the 17th century temple.

The harm to wildlife is rarely reported. For example, the Kotli-Bhel dam at Devprayag will submerge 1,200 hectares of forest wiping out the river otters, and mahseer, that are found there.

world book day 2012

Dressing up or dressing down has always been a popular fundraising activity that schools have done for us on World Book Day – so that’s why this year we’d like you to do just that and get changed to change lives! With a suggested donation of £1 to take part, why not dress up as your favourite book character or organise a non-school uniform day and help raise money to send brand new books to school libraries in sub-Saharan Africa.

Hundreds of schools across the country fundraised for us on World Book Day and we’d like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone for your amazing support!

From dressing up as your favourite book characters to holding non school uniform days and giant book sales – every penny you raised will enable us to send brand new books to libraries in sub-Saharan Africa.
Thank you to everyone for sending in your photographs of your handmade creative book character costumes  – we love them! You can find out more about what schools got up to this World Book Day
