2-1, In Stanley Cup Final Game 5

Bryce Salvador scored on a deflection off a defenseman and the New Jersey Devils derailed Los Angeles' Stanley Cup coronation for a second time, beating the Kings 2-1 in Game 5 of the finals Saturday night.

Zach Parise ended a five-game goal drought on a rare mistake by goalie Jonathan Quick, and Martin Brodeur stopped 25 shots to help the Devils end the Kings' 10-game postseason winning streak on the road and 12-game run over the past two years, both NHL records.

he Stanley Cup playoffs have become somewhat of a blur for the New Jersey Devils and Los Angeles Kings.

It seemed like yesterday that the regular season came to an end and the teams looked forward with apprehension to meeting Florida and Vancouver in the opening round, respectively.

USMNT vs. Antigua & Barbuda : Match Commentary

The United States put in a rather unimpressive performance in seeing off Antigua and Barbuda in their World Cup qualifying match in Tampa.

The hosts should have absolutely demolished the minnows in a Floridian downpour, but were held to an unconvincing 3-1 victory instead, losing Jose Torres to a severe-looking ankle injury in the process..

people comment on ...

This team will need Fabian Johnson @ LB vs Guatemala on the road. I’d also like to see them go 4-4-2 in a match where 0-0 wouldn’t be the worst result ever and they might be better served counterattacking, esp. @ the start.

Gomez & Jozy would play well off one another, I think.

Other than that, there’s not much to learn in a match vs an inferior side in bad conditions. Anything less than a 7-0 shellacking wasn’t going to get attention. Mexico ‘struggled’ similarly vs an equally poor side.

Such is WC qualifying for major nations, where the opposition is playing literally it’s biggest match ever when it plays you.

Phil Mickelson confirms interest in buying the San Diego Padres

The San Diego Padres are having a rough go of it in the National League West at the moment.

That has to frustrate Phil Mickelson, a life-long Padres fan who grew up in the area. But unlike most fans who lament about their team's current plight and dream of one day being able to do something about the quality of the squad on the field, Mickelson has the cash and the time to do just that.
