I've spent time on this blog advocating for the idea of the smart watch as something more

than a fad—something that could make a small but significant disruption in the world of connected devices.



Though I had previously thought the smart money, so to speak, was on the well-reviewed but oft-delayed Meta Watch,



it looks as though the watch to watch might be a Sony offering hidden away amidst the many wonders of CES last week. (CNET called my attention to it.)

It is called, simply, Sony SmartWatch (slightly unfortunate tagline: "Touch your world"), runs $149, and is supposed

'True Blood' is back! : season 5

Like the smell of barbecue or the sight of a bare midriff, True Blood has become one of those signs that summer has finally arrived.

I love how this show doesn't waste any time, and the premiere was no different, jumping into the action exactly where we left off. Before the opening credits even roll,

Sookie persuades Pam to "turn" a dying Tara. Maybe this plot twist was obvious to some, but I must admit, it came as a complete surprise to me.

Meanwhile, Eric and Bill are captured for killing Nan. Who exactly these people are is somewhat confusing -- especially after Eric makes out with Nora, the woman he reveals is his "sister."

There was late money on Timothy Bradley so take it how you wish.

Though they aren’t alone, The Daily News had it for Pacquiao:

Judge Jerry Roth scored it 115-113 for Pacquiao, while judges C.J. Ross and Duane Ford each scored it 115-113 for Bradley. The Daily News scored it 116-112 for Pacquiao.

With the victory Bradley earned $5 million and the WBO welterweight title.

So, boxing is dead? I can’t keep track.

I just want to say that bad judging/umpiring/refereeing/officiating happens in all sports. When it happens in MMA or boxing (or all the other sports) people point to corruption in the sport.

It is human error. People are inherently incompetent.
