(CNN) -- The widow of Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat said Wednesday she wants his body exhumed to find out whether he was poisoned after tests showed high levels of a radioactive substance on some of his personal belongings.

Suha Arafat told CNN she is requesting the body be exhumed "to make sure 100% of the existence of polonium."

A Swiss doctor said Wednesday they found high levels of toxic polonium-210 on some of Arafat's belongings, though it does not mean he suffered radiation poisoning.

"We have evidence there is too much polonium, but we also have hints from the medical records that this may not be the case," said Francois Bochud, director of the Institut de Radiophysique in Lausanne, Switzerland. "The only way to resolve this anomaly would be by testing the body."

Suha Arafat said she had not made an official request to the Palestinian Authority for exhumation because no official request is needed. The Palestinian Authority said Wednesday that it would not object to exhuming the body from its tomb if Arafat's family approves.

If it turns out that Arafat, who died in 2004, was poisoned, "Any result will be significant for us to help know the truth," said Suha Arafat, the former leader's widow. "It is a form of closure for our family. Closing one wound but opening a new one, wondering who is responsible."

Bochud's research team tested Arafat's toothbrush, clothing and keffiyeh, the trademark black-and-white headscarf he often wore, Bochud said.

But getting data from items like clothing "is really tricky business," said Cham Dallas, a professor and toxicologist at the University of Georgia's Institute for Health Management and Mass Destruction Defense.

"We don't have enough information to make any definitive statement, but it does seem a bit of a stretch" to conclude that Arafat was poisoned by polonium-210, he told CNN in a telephone interview.

Dallas questioned how much confidence the Swiss scientists could have in their measurements and said he was looking forward to results from tests carried out on the body after it is exhumed.

"I'd have a lot more confidence if you could give me a bone sample," he told CNN in a telephone interview. He cited compartments inside the bone as particularly telling. "There's old bone and then there's new bone," he said. "If you're sampling, it would come out very differently."

Arafat died at age 75 at a Paris military hospital after he suffered a brain hemorrhage and slipped into a coma. Palestinian officials said in the days before his death that Arafat had a blood disorder -- though they ruled out leukemia -- and that he had digestive problems.

Rumors of poisoning circulated at the time, but Palestinian officials denied them, and then-Foreign Minister Nabil Sha'ath said he "totally" ruled them out.

Two weeks after Arafat's death, his nephew said medical records showed no cause of death. Nasser al-Kidwa, who was the Palestinian observer to the United Nations, said toxicology tests showed "no known poison" -- though he refused to exclude the possibility that poison caused his uncle's death.

"The suspicion that he was killed, that he was deliberately murdered, has been there all along and most Palestinians believe that," said Hanan Ashrawi, a member of the Palestinian Liberation Organization's executive committee. "I personally believed it because I was with him; I saw him; I saw the transformation and it certainly was unnatural."

Ashrawi said she had spoken with Arafat's doctors, who told her that they could not rule out the possibility that he had been poisoned. "But we didn't have any kind of thread, any kind of evidence," she told CNN. "This report, in many ways, tells us our suspicions are founded that there is sufficient evidence to say that he was killed, that he was assassinated using polonium."

Only a few countries, including the United States, Israel and Russia, have stocks of polonium-210, a fact that would limit the list of possible suspects, he said. "You would only use polonium if you were making a statement, not if you were trying to hide," he said.

Someone trying to get away with murder would be better off using pharmaceutical agents, since a number of of them "disappear in the body" and cannot be identified later, he said.

"I can't figure out why they would use it, frankly," he said. "There are so many really cool agents to kill people if you want to be secret and even if you want to make a statement."

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has ordered a committee investigating Arafat's death to follow up on all reports "and to seek assistance from Arab and international experts to find the truth behind Arafat's illness and death," said his spokesman, Nabil Abu Rudeineh.

It should be possible to detect any remaining polonium -- a naturally radioactive chemical element -- in Arafat's body, despite the time that has elapsed since his death because he was buried in a tomb, not underground, Bochud said.

Arafat's widow asked the Swiss institute to analyze some of his belongings and medical documents, Bochud said.

The Qatar-based satellite network Al Jazeera relayed the request and broadcast a report about the test results.

The testing found no evidence of traditional poison, Bochud said.

But Al Jazeera and the family then asked him to test for radioactive material, and found an "unexplained amount of polonium-210," he said, adding, "We are testing tiny quantities so it is difficult to measure and not conclusive."

A body fluid stain contained 180 megabecquerels per liter of the radioactive isotope, while a typical sample would contain 5 megabecquerels per liter, Bochud said. A becquerel is a unit of measurement of radioactivity.

The fabric of Arafat's clothing, without body fluid, contained less than 10 megabecquerels per liter, Bochud said.

Tests involving biological samples -- such as urine, sweat or blood -- contained higher levels than other samples taken from his clothing, he said.

Arafat's widow had left his clothes inside a sports bag from the time they were returned to her eight years ago from the hospital, Bochud said.

It was not clear whether anything that may have happened to the clothes -- over the years or in the testing process -- may have affected the test results.

Asked whether polonium-210 could have been applied to the items since Arafat's death, Bochud said, "Anything is possible."

Bochud also said the Institut de Radiophysique did not verify that the clothing was Arafat's; another organization concluded that the DNA on the items was similar to that of Arafat's daughter.

Zahwa Arafat provided her DNA for the comparison, Suha Arafat told CNN. The wait for test results, which lasted months, "was emotionally difficult," she said.

Former Russian spy Alexander Litvinenko died of polonium poisoning in London in 2006.

But it's hard to compare the cases of Arafat and Litvinenko, who was diagnosed when he was alive, Bochud said.

Arafat's symptoms when he died were not entirely consistent with polonium poisoning, he said.

"For example, the bone marrow stayed in good shape until (the) death of Arafat. In other cases of polonium poisoning there is a decaying of the bone marrow," the medical expert said. "Another point, he did not lose his hair as would be expected in the case of polonium." poisoning.

Scientists performed more than 50 measurements on the belongings between February and June, he said.

Protesters in Mexico City on Wednesday alleged fraud in the presidential poll. The winning party, the PRI, denied vote buying and other allegations.

MEXICO CITY—Mexican election officials Wednesday began reviewing votes at more than half of polling stations involved in Sunday's presidential vote, as one of the losing candidates called for a full recount after claiming there was widespread vote buying and other irregularities. 

The Federal Electoral Institute, or IFE, said the recount was unlikely to significantly alter the preliminary results, in which Enrique Peña Nieto of the opposition Institutional Revolutionary Party, or PRI, won with 38% of the tally versus 31.5% for Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who hasn't accepted the results.

IFE officials haven't granted Mr. Lopez Obrador his request for a full recount, but halfway through the review late Wednesday, they said Mr. Peña Nieto had gained one percentage point.

Under a change to Mexican election law in 2007—spurred by complaints of fraud by Mr. López Obrador after the 2006 election—officials must recount votes in any polling station where the margin of victory was less than one percentage point, or where there is any kind of doubt, such as a mismatch between some numbers, or votes for only one party. 

"This is the biggest exercise in openness and transparency in Mexican electoral history," IFE executive secretary Edmundo Jacobo told reporters.

Mr. López Obrador, of the Party of the Democratic Revolution, or PRD, says the vote was fraudulent, alleging everything from electronic vote tampering to unfair media coverage toward the PRI, which ruled Mexico from 1929 to 2000 and was known for its vote-rigging practices. 

But the former Mexico City mayor hasn't offered proof of his allegations. The other losing candidate, Josefina Vázquez Mota, of the ruling National Action Party, who got 24% of the vote, has accepted the result. An observer mission from the Organization of American States praised Mexico's vote as exemplary. Heads of state from around the world have congratulated Mr. Peña Nieto. 

One notable allegation involves a retail chain called Soriana. In the days after Sunday's vote, thousands of people turned up to Soriana outlets near Mexico City. Many said they were redeeming gift cards allegedly given to them by PRI campaigners in exchange for their vote. 

At a Soriana in Mexico City's poor Iztapalapa neighborhood, Veronica Ramírez, 38, said she had been offered prepaid Soriana cards said to be worth 500 pesos (roughly $40) on Thursday and Friday before the election by campaigners wearing PRI shirts and handing out political materials. She said the campaigners didn't specifically ask for her vote but seemed to be giving the cards out as a goodwill gesture. 

So many shoppers turned up at the store on Monday and Tuesday that the store closed on Wednesday to restock. 

Soriana took out full-page ads in several Mexican newspapers to dismiss allegations it was helping the PRI, saying the cards were party of a loyalty program offered by a labor union that gave workers discounts, not free merchandise.

Other Soriana shoppers on Wednesday said they had been approached by all three parties with offers of everything from food to phone cards.

Leonora Cordero, 47, worked as an election observer in the same neighborhood and said she had seen campaigners dressed in shirts for Mr. López Obrador's PRD trying to buy votes. Rather than Soriana cards, she said they were offering free breakfasts, encouraging those who accepted to vote for the party."It wasn't just the PRI giving things away that day," she said.

In an interview Tuesday, Mr. Peña Nieto reiterated that he had won fairly. "The result of the election is clear," he said. On Wednesday, a Peña Nieto adviser, Miguel Ángel Osorio Chong, said in a news conference that the PRI hadn't bought votes through Soriana gift cards or in any other way. The two other parties denied accusations of vote buying.

Mexico's elections have come a long way since the days when the PRI would carry out tactics like Operation Carousel, where the same group of voters would be taken to multiple voting stations, or Operation Tamale, where voters would stuff various ballots at a time into one box.

On Election day, every polling station is manned by citizens picked at random by the election agency, plus representatives from every major party. Voters have an election agency I.D. with a picture, and get their fingers stained with indelible ink to make sure they vote only once. The vote is counted openly in front of all parties and volunteers and the result is posted outside the station publicly. 

The IFE agency makes a preliminary count from each polling station. In the days that follow, the ballot boxes are taken to IFE headquarters, where the agency compares its tallies against the preliminary result. If any question arises, the boxes are opened and the votes recounted. 

Still, the legacy of PRI vote rigging made a lasting impression, causing many Mexicans to still mistrust election officials. 

The vote-buying allegations at the Soriana caught the attention of Mexico's student protesters, who spent much of the campaign accusing broadcaster Grupo Televisa SAB of being in league with the PRI, which the broadcaster denied. On Tuesday the group began demonstrations in front of several Soriana stores and was discussing calls for a boycott of the chain. 

"Soriana is just one example of how business interests have lined up to support politicians," said student leader Carlos Brito. "The PRI once gave out bags of food. Now they've modernized into the gift card business."

Adding to Soriana's woes was an attack claimed by hacking group Anonymous that brought down the company's website for several hours Tuesday. 

Alianza Civica, a nonprofit that monitored the election, said that in its exit polls 14% of voters said they been approached by someone offering to buy their vote, the highest levels since the group began election monitoring in 1994. The most common tactic was offering food or discounts on food. "It is important to note this was done by all of the main political parties," said Beatriz Camacho, the group's director, adding that voters polled said the vast majority of offers came from the PRI.

Ms. Camacho said the surge in vote buying seemed to be linked with changes to electoral laws in 2007 which restricted how much airtime parties could buy on television and put other restrictions on campaigning. That encouraged parties to use excess funds that might have gone to ads for vote buying.

The seventh race of the MotoGP™ class for the 2012 season saw Speed Master’s Mattia Pasini record his best premier-class result yet on board his ART machine.

Pasini obtained his best result so far for 2012 season on board his ART machine in the GP at the Dutch TT Assen circuit. Starting from fifteenth spot on the grid, Pasini moved up a few placements in the initial phases of the race, staying with the CRT group that was ahead of him. The Italian defended his position with strength, setting a good pace and trying to keep in touch with the other riders once the tyres began to wear out.
The Italian crossed the finishing line in tenth position, third among the CRT machines, obtaining 6 points in the championship classification, where he’s currently in fifteenth position.

"After all, I am happy. We finished in tenth position and, on the whole, this was a positive weekend. We made a step forward; I stayed with the CRT group where Espargaró, De Puniet and Pirro were, even if by half of the race I had some issues. I’m satisfied with the improvements we carried out, as the data we put together is important for the next races. Now we’ll look forwards to Sachsenring, hopefully we’ll make some extra progress and we’ll keep working this way."

Kerala tops obscene postings list on Internet ,good news for Kerala state,kerala top in literate state

New Delhi: Kerala is the most literate state in the country but when it comes to posting obscene articles or photos on the Internet, people from God's own country seem to be also on top, if one goes by government data.

27 per cent (136) of the 496 cases of obscene publication registered in the country last year were from the southern state, topping the list in this regard.

Around 55 per cent of the 245 cyber crime cases reported last year were from Kerala.

According to the 'Crime in India 2011' report released recently by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB),
Kerala is way ahead of Andhra Pradesh which came second with 52 cases followed by Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh with 40 cases each.

In a list of 53 cities having a population of over one lakh, Kerala's commercial capital Kochi ranked fourth with 12 cases of obscene publication and was behind Bengaluru (19), Jodhpur (15) and Ludhiana (13). There were seven cases from Malappuram, five from Kozhikode and four each from Kerala's

capital Thiruvananthapuram and Trissur among others.

Keralites also used the cyber world to indulge in eve-teasing or harassing women with a motive in 85 cases registered, second only to Andhra Pradesh (98) in this connection. While 13 cases in Kerala related to settling scores, in 32 it was for money.

At the all-India level, the report said cyber crimes went up by a whopping 67 per cent last year in the country while the number of those arrested for such incidents rose by 140 per cent.

According to the report, the number of such cases touched 2,213 (registered under IT Act and IPC sections) in 2011 from 1,322 the previous year.

In 2008, the figure for cyber cases was 464 across the country while for 2009 it had increased to 696.

The number of arrests for cyber crimes also showed a significant increase from 682 in 2010 to 1,630 last year. In 2008, it was 313 and in 2009, the figure was 551.

Among the arrested, 31 were minors while 13 were above the age of 60 years. As many as 883 people who were arrested belonged to 18-30 years age bracket while 554 belonged to 30-45 years group.

139 were in the 45-60 years group.

The highest number of cases were of loss or damage to computer resources in which 826 cases were registered and 487 people were arrested. 259 cases of forgery were also registered and 227 arrested.

For harassing people by posting obscene articles or photos, 443 people were arrested in 496 cases.

That is how BBC television pundit and former England striker Alan Shearer - top scorer at the European Championship 16 years ago - described Spain just minutes after they made history on Sunday night by thrashing Italy 4-0 in Kiev to become Euro 2012 champions.

What is not in doubt is that Spain 2008-12 are the most successful international team of all time. Their dominant success at the Olympic Stadium means they have won an unprecedented three major tournaments in succession - their 2010 World Cup triumph sandwiching two consecutive European Championships.

But trophies are not everything.

It is important to note that this analysis has not considered any international teams prior to the 1960s, due to the scarcity of television footage, and with that in consideration, only three sides can challenge Spain for the title of greatest international team ever. The likes of Netherlands 1974, Brazil and Italy 1982, and France 1984 just miss out.

BRAZIL (1970)

Traditionally, Brazil`s 1970 World Cup winners have been regarded as untouchable. Certainly, no major tournament has witnessed such a dominant, destructive and talented attacking force as Mario Zagallo`s side. The Selecao crushed virtually every opponent they faced en route to glory, scoring a whopping 19 goals in six games and thumping European champions Italy 4-1 in the final.

In midfield and attack, pound for pound, they have no equal. Player of the tournament Gerson pulled the strings in the centre of the park alongside the unorthodox Clodoaldo. Rivelino had perhaps the greatest left foot the World Cup has ever seen, while the fleet-footed outside-right Jairzinho remains the only player to score in every round of a Mundial. In attack, Tostao and, of course, Pele floated, linked, and dropped deep to devastating effect. These six players represent the most formidable attacking unit the sport has witnessed.

Defensively, Brazil had their weaknesses, but the offence more than made up for these deficiencies, and their Mexican conquest is full of legendary moments. Carlos Alberto`s fourth goal against Italy – the greatest international team goal ever - was the icing on the cake, yet there were other sequences, though none resulted in a goal, all produced by Pele; his dummy on Uruguay goalkeeper Ladislao Mazurkiewicz, the attempted halfway-line chip of Czechoslovakia`s Ivo Viktor, and the bullet header miraculously saved by England`s Gordon Banks.

And all this was achieved during one of the strongest eras of international football. Italy, West Germany and England all boasted world-class teams, while the likes of Peru and Copa America holders Uruguay were also dangerous. With the exception of the West Germans, Brazil swept aside every one of the aforementioned nations on the way to glory in Mexico.

But the 1970 World Cup was the only major trophy that Brazil won and, compared to Spain`s three consecutive titles, this appears sparse. There were, however, no Copa America tournaments held between 1967 and 1975, meaning that Brazil did not have the opportunity to compete for continental supremacy. By the time the 1974 World Cup came along, much of the wonder team had broken up, and the golden era was over.

The 1970 incarnation are undoubtedly the greatest single tournament team of all time, but whether one success is enough to make them the best international outfit in history is open to question.

Helmut Schon`s West Germany of 1972-76 certainly cannot be accused of being one-hit wonders, having been the first and only team before the current Spain to reach successive Euro-World Cup-Euro finals. Die Mannschaft were built around a brilliant Bayern Munich spine, consisting of goalkeeper Sepp Maier, libero and captain Franz Beckenbauer, and goalscoring machine Gerd Muller.

A myth about this German side is that they were only efficient and physically insurmountable; they often ran teams into the ground through pure force and fitness. And while the likes of Berti Vogts, Rainer Bonhof and Paul Breitner were world-class all-action men, Germany did also boast two genius playmakers in Gunter Netzer and Wolfgang Overath.

The former was the star man in West Germany`s successful Euro 1972 campaign, memorably destroying England 3-1 at Wembley in the quarter-finals, before inspiring subsequent successes over Belgium and the Soviet Union. Overath was the creative spark when West Germany upset favourites Netherlands as they came from behind to win the 1974 World Cup final. Both playmakers, as well as Gerd Muller, were gone in 1976, but the rest of the team largely remained. They could do nothing, though, as Antonin Panenka`s iconic spot-kick in the penalty shoot-out handed Czechoslovakia victory and stopped the Germans short of a third straight success.

Of the four teams considered, West Germany 1972-76 are probably the most complete. They boasted numerous world-class players in every department – a top-quality goalkeeper, a mean defence, skill and sweat in midfield, and the greatest penalty-box striker of all time in attack. Mentally, they are also at least as strong as Spain, staging numerous comebacks from difficult positions – including the 1974 World Cup final, and in the semis and the final of Euro ’76, where they recovered from two goals down to force extra time on both occasions. And having defeated the Netherlands` Total Footballers of Cruyff and Neeskens – one of the best teams never to win the World Cup – they overcame an amazing side on their journey to greatness.

FRANCE (1998-2000)

The most recent team to be considered alongside the current Spanish side are the French double-winners of 1998 and 2000. Les Bleus boasted one of international football`s best-ever defences in Lilian Thuram, Marcel Desailly, Laurent Blanc and Bixente Lizarazu, as well as a truly great central midfield pairing of Zinedine Zidane and Didier Deschamps. And they went all the way to World Cup glory despite not having a top-class striker, although two years later, Thierry Henry and David Trezeguet had burst onto the scene to add some devastating firepower.

But there is no doubting who the star individual was, the man who was perhaps the most influential talent from any of these four teams – the one and only Zidane. The ex-Juventus and Real Madrid hero was always the player for the big occasion; he headed two goals in the World Cup final win over Brazil, before firing home knockout winners versus Spain and Portugal in 2000.

The era of the late 1990s and early 2000s was probably the last time international football had an abundance of top-class players and teams; it took a truly special XI to reign supreme alongside Ronaldo`s Brazil, Paolo Maldini`s Italy, Edgar Davids` Netherlands and Luis Figo`s Portugal.

This France outfit – coached first by Aime Jacquet and then Roger Lemerre - had a certain aura about them that crippled opponents before a ball was kicked, something that can also be said of the current Spain side. They also possessed great mental strength, as evidenced by three Golden Goal victories over Paraguay, Portugal and Italy – the latter in the Euro 2000 final after initially equalising deep into stoppage time.

Of all the four teams, France and Spain came closest to elimination during their successes. The French required a penalty shoot-out against Italy at the quarter-final stage of the 1998 World Cup, a lottery the Spanish have been involved in three times during their period of dominance. Both West Germany, despite a number of comebacks, and Brazil earned `cleaner` victories. The Selecao, in particular, were rarely in danger in Mexico and romped to victory in virtually every game. Therefore, some would argue that Brazil`s 1970 outfit relied the least on luck, and more on their own skill.

SPAIN (2008-2012)

One only has to look at the records Spain have broken in the last four years to understand just why they are being considered the greatest international team of all time.

La Roja are the first side to win three consecutive major international tournaments. They have gone 12 European Championship finals games without losing - the last defeat arriving in June 2004 to Portugal. The 4-0 scoreline against Italy is the biggest winning margin in any World Cup or European Championship final. The last time Iker Casillas - who on Sunday became the first footballer to win 100 international games - conceded a knockout goal in a major tournament was six long years ago when France`s Zinedine Zidane scored at the 2006 World Cup.

Football is a team game, and as a team in the truest sense of the word, Spain are surely the best of all time. Every single player - regardless of position - is effortlessly comfortable in possession, and there is no such thing as individualism.

Xavi will undoubtedly go down as one of the greatest midfield directors the game has ever seen. His partner in crime, Andres Iniesta, will also be remembered as an all-time great in his more attacking role, as will goalkeeper Casillas. All over the pitch, there are world class performers. In midfield there is a ridiculous abundance of talent, with Spain`s second string middle-third arguably as strong as any nation`s first team picks. So strong that La Roja romped to Euro 2012 glory without a natural centre forward.

Counting against Spain is the fact that this is one of the weakest eras in international football of the past 50 years. Traditional powerhouses such as Italy (this tournament surprise aside), France and England have been in crisis, South American superpowers Brazil and Argentina have lacked leadership, meaning that only Germany have had the quality in all areas to really be described as a major force. And as we learned yet again last week, Die Mannschaft lack the mental fortitude when push comes to shove.

The unanswerable question?

Comparing teams from different eras is always a difficult task. Football has altered and evolved immeasurably over the years. Spain have become a wonderful exception to the rule that today`s teams are set up to be strong and pacey. In certain quarters, skill and technique have been thrown by the wayside, while modifications in the rules surrounding back-passes and offsides have changed the face of the game further. The replacement of leather footballs with synthetic models has also upped the pace, and made defending much more difficult.

Some world-class players from the 1960s or 70s would struggle to cope with the athletic nature of the modern game. Similarly, many of today`s stars would not be technical and tactical enough to handle the artful arena of yesteryear.

In conclusion, the four teams analysed all have their various strengths. Brazil 1970 are the most devastating attacking unit and the best single tournament team. West Germany 1972-76 are the most complete side, France the best defensively with the most influential individual, while Spain have the best `team` and won the most trophies, yet played in the weakest era.

Indian women cricket eves beat England in first ODI

Skipper Mithali Raj led from the front with an unbeaten knock of 94 as Indian women's cricket team defeated England by five wickets in their first one-dayer here.

Texas sextuplets' parents: 1 sick baby a 'fighter'

HOUSTON -- The parents of Houston-area sextuplets born last month said Wednesday one of their daughters continues to battle some health problems but is a "fighter," and they are looking forward to the day she and her siblings can go home, possibly in a couple of months.

Lauren and David Perkins said their three boys -- Andrew, Benjamin and Levi -- and two of their girls -- Allison and Caroline -- are doing well. One daughter, Leah, still is catching up to her siblings. She had surgery Monday to repair a portion of her bowel.

Lauren Perkins, 28, said it has been upsetting to watch Leah struggle.

"Leah is just a roller coaster for sure," she said. "We get excited for all of her gains and then it's heartbreaking when she has a big setback. She's been able to recover from everything so far. We are just confident she will be able to pull through."

David Perkins, 29, said dealing with Leah's health issues has helped the couple be more patient and "appreciate the small victories."

"We are just thanking God every day for our babies and we are looking forward to bringing them home," said Lauren Perkins, who worked as a school psychologist. She and her husband live in the Houston suburb of Pearland.

Health problems Leah was experiencing in utero prompted doctors to deliver the babies April 23, about 10 weeks premature, said Dr. Charles Hankins, a neonatologist at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston.

"In a way, Leah is the boss. She continues to drive a lot of the decisions," Hankins said. "All of the babies for their age are doing pretty much as expected. Five of 6 are following a very rapid path. Leah is catching up, slowly but surely."

Leah is the only baby who remains on a ventilator. The others are using a tube in their nose and mouth that partially inflates their lungs so their bodies don't have to work as hard, he said. Some of them could stop using this tube later this week.

Four of the babies will have their central lines, which are used to support their nutrition, removed Wednesday. Levi will have it removed Thursday. Leah will continue being fed through an IV line.

"Every time we withdraw something and it gets to stay off, that's a good thing," Hankins said.

When the children were born, the heaviest of them weighed 2 pounds, 15 ounces. Hankins said the babies should weigh 4 to 5 pounds by the time they can go home. Doctors are hopeful that will be in about two months.

Lauren Perkins conceived the sextuplets after undergoing fertility treatment. She said when she and her husband first talked about starting a family, they thought about having two children. But they are ready to raise six children and grateful for the support received from family, friends, even strangers, she said.

Sunny: Papaji got emotional and screamed again "Basanti, in kutto ke samne mat nachna!". You know how he is. Waise I'm no less emotional. I saw the tubewell and suddenly became Gadar's Tara Singh. I screamed "Humara Hindustan zindabad tha, zindabad hai aur zindabad rahega" and uprooted the tubewell.

Doosra: Good lord! What happened then?

Sunny: Half the baaratis fled from the scene and we had to apologise to bring them back. And when they returned, it could have been another crisis because I had uprooted the tubewell, which was the only source of drinking water!

Doosra: Oh boy! So how you managed that?

Sunny: Hema ji intervened. She immediately got 25 Kent water purifiers there, 23 of which she sold to the baraatis.

Doosra: Well, sounds quite eventful. But these are minor glitches, happen in every marriage.

Sunny: I guess so. We also ran out of paneer and rushed to nearest shop to buy more. Guess what? They had a balance but no stone. Fortunately I was there and solved the problem.

Doosra: How?

Sunny: You silly. Everyone knows I have dhaai-kilo-wala haat. We needed 5 kg paneer. So I put both arms on one side and they weighed paneer on the other. Dimple! I mean simple!

In a dramatic turn of events the 28-year-old ensured it would be who won the accolade with a superb 15-minute cameo in the 4-0 final win over Italy to put another torrid season behind him. Andhra Pradesh : 36 Naxals are arrested,

Hyderabad: In a major operation, thirty-six Naxals were on Sunday apprehended by the CRPF and state police from Vishakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh.

Among those nabbed is top Naxal commander Lambayya who carries a reward of Rs 30,000 on his head.

The security forces also seized a number of weapons and ammunition besides Rs one lakh in cash after the operation.

The arrested Naxals have been identified as Pangni Mangu (female 18 years) of Palem village,

Thambelu Devudu alias Lambayya Pedapadu, Thambelu Venkat Rao (22),

Kotta Babu Rao alias Chanti (25),

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, accompanied by high level officials, will visit the flood affected areas of Assam on Monday to take stock of the situation and the relief efforts being made there.

PMO sources said Singh will leave for norteastern Indian state Assam on Monday and return by evening. He will be accompanied by officials who will assess damage and relief work.

Singh has already announced an ex-gratia of Rs.one lakh from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund to the kin of each of those killed in the floods and directed the Defence Ministry to provide Army assistance in rescue and relief.

Singh had called up the state's Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on June 28 to enquire about the condition in the state.

The Prime Minister has assured the Assam government of all help to deal with the flood situation there.

He had also spoken to Defence Minister A K Antony "urging full Army assistance for the rescue and relief operations in the affected areas".

Though the water level is said to be receding in some areas, 23 of the 27 districts of the state have come in the grip of floods and more than 30 people have died, while several are reported missing.

24 sorties have been carried out by the Indian Air Force helicopters and 4,000 kg of food packets dropped in the flood affected regions.

Indian tennis stalwarts Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi, who were locked in a selection row for the London Olympics recently, saw their fortunes take different turns today with the former reaching the third round of the men's doubles event while the latter crashed out of mixed doubles
competition of the Wimbledon in London.

The French Open champion pair of Bhupathi and Sania Mirza, who later joined the selection row by lashing out at the AITA for using her as a "bait" to pacify Paes, suffered a crushing 3-6 1-6 defeat to Australian P Hanley and A Kudryavtseva in a 50-minute mixed-doubles match at the All England Club in London.

However, Paes -- who confirmed his participation in the Olympics just on Friday -- and his Czech partner Radek Stepanek notched up a 6-2 6-4 7-6 (5) victory over Isreali combination of Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram in a gruelling two hour and 20 minutes battle.

Seeded fourth in the tournament, Paes and Stepanek rode on their batter serves and broke their rivals twice in the first set.

The Israeli pair started to get their bearings right in the second set but they failed to create opportunities even as Paes and Stepanek broke them once out of the five chances that came their way.

In the third set, both the pairs broke each other once but in the end it was the Indo-Czech combination who had the last laugh.

In contrast in mixed doubles event, the fifth seeded Indian duo of Bhupathi and Sania failed to match the game of their unseeded rivals and made an early exit.

The Australian-Russian duo sent down six aces and also broke the Indian pair four times out of the seven chances that came their way.

Assam MLA attack: Police arrest five people,reports is now on hand,bad news for goverment

Five people were arrested for allegedly beating up Congress MLA Rumi Nath and her second husband.

"Five persons suspected to have been involved in the attack on the woman MLA have been arrested from here," superintendent of police Pradip Pujari said.

Nath and her second husband were beaten up and injured when they were attacked on Friday night in a hotel by a group of people who were angry over her second marriage without divorcing her first husband.

The MLA and her second husband who were escorted to Guwahati have received medical treatment and were reported to be out of danger.

Nath has filed an FIR with the police alleging that a mob had attacked her on "political motivation".

Further investigation are continuing, Pujari said.

Calcutta National Medical College blast : City hospital blast, chemical matter declare,research on hand...

Calcutta, June 30: A “tin can” exploded at the Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital as a sweeper’s broom hit it this morning, smashing windowpanes 10ft away in a portion of the facility that would have been teeming with outpatients in two hours.

The sweeper has been admitted to the hospital with injuries in the eye and all over his body.

The hospital authorities tried to downplay the 7am explosion, suggesting a chemical reaction involving waste may have triggered it.

“Police are yet to tell us what caused the blast.

We have formed a five-member inquiry committee of doctors,” said Partha Pradhan, medical superintendent of the hospital.

Health department spokesperson Asit Biswas said: “We are reviewing how to upgrade security at the hospital.”

Amit Raut, the injured sweeper, said he saw a tin can among the garbage in a corner of the outpatient department.

He said the explosion occurred the moment it hit the wall after being brushed aside.

“I was clearing garbage piled in front of an electric room when the blast happened,” he said.

Doctors said Raut suffered minor abrasions all over his body. “His eye injury was caused by smoke and dust,” Pradhan said.

He skirted the question whether Raut had suffered splinter injuries. “The police have not found any splinters.”

A forensic expert corroborated that a team that visited the hospital had “not found any splinter activity in the place of occurrence”. He said the blast “appeared” to be caused by a chemical reaction.

Hospital sources dismissed suggestions that the can was a crude bomb.

“No signs of explosives have been found. Some chemical must have been dumped in the corridor and it reacted with some other chemical, resulting in the explosion,” a hospital official said.

“Chances are that some sulphurous compound had reacted with some other chemical resulting in the low-intensity explosion. The presence of some other substance like a carbide compound cannot be ruled out, either.”

Doctors, however, said sulphurous and carbide compounds were not used in hospitals.

“These are used in chemical laboratories. So, it should be probed why these were brought into the hospital OPD,” a doctor said.

The police said no evidence of a tin can had been found. “There are no burn marks on the victim’s body, which happens in case of splinter injuries. No splinter marks were found on the wall, either,” a police officer said.

“The vapour detector has ruled out the presence of any explosive material used in bombs,” he added.

The police have found a green plastic bottle near the blast site. “We have sent the bottle for tests,” an officer said.

Had the explosion taken place a little later, hospital sources said, more people could have been injured.

“The OPDs start at 9.30am but the tickets are issued from 9am. The corridor remains overcrowded till around 4pm,” an official said. On an average, 3,500 patients come to the OPD every day. During OPD hours, at least 8,000 more are present.

Hospital sources said the building has three gates.

“All three are kept open during the OPD hours. For the rest of the day, two gates are kept closed,” a hospital source said.

He said open gates are supposed to be manned by private security personnel and the police. The offices of the ward master and a private security agency are near the blast site.

“It’s difficult for an outsider to hide explosives in that section. It seems to be the job of an insider,” an official said.

Hospital sources said the lack of CCTV surveillance was a cause for concern, especially in the dark corridors.
