Pranab Mukherjee: Government choose for president for india 2012...

FM Pranab Mukherjee had rejected the S&P report that cautioned that India could lose investment grade rating.

On Tuesday, he once again stuck to his standard line that the industrial output data was "disappointing" and the government would have to take steps to revive sentiment.

Mukherjee also told bankers that the government was taking several measures to kick-start the economy.

"The government is committed to ensure faster project clearances, attracting new investments, both domestic and foreign, fixing regulatory issues etc to boost investors' confidence. Fiscal management is also a high priority.

Regular tariff revisions and focusing of subsidies to the needy shall have to be given necessary attention. All of this, I am sure, will revive growth in the economy."

Group 4 reject but not ignore ....

Group 4 reject but not ignore ....

GROUP 4 might have bowed out of Tier 2 Country Championship competition but it was far from embarrassed by Friday night’s 34-18 loss to Group 3 in Forster and Group 4 officials believe they can only improve if they keep the core of talented young players together.

Group 4 secretary and selector Mick Schmiedel thought the Tim O’Brien-coached side was heading to victory at one stage of Friday night’s qualifying final at Harry Elliot Oval, Forster.

“We led 12-10 at half-time,” Schmiedel said.

“I thought we’d dominated in the period before half-time and were going well in the second half but five minutes into the second half and one of their players suffered a broken leg.

“We had to wait for about 30 minutes for an ambulance and after that Group 3 came back very strongly.

“They were motivated and scored three quick tries straight away.”

“While they dominated we struggled a bit.

“But we did play some good

football.

“They had a good side and we mixed it with them – we weren’t embarrassed.

“And we do have a young squad.

“Jake Rumsby, Jerrod See, Beau White, Trent Hilton and Matty Nean are all in the 18 to 23 age bracket.

“If we can hang onto all the good young kids plus with older players such as Brendan Hunt, Brenton Cochrane and Shaun Ferguson we will always be competitive at this level.”

He thought Narrabri backrower Rumsby was outstanding.

“He was huge for us,” he said.

“He played 70 minutes as well and when he did come off was ready to go back on five minutes later,” he said.

“Matty Nean was a smidgin behind him and Tim Coombes made some big charges.

“He and Scotty Rolls had some charges up the middle.”

Schmiedel believes Group 3 will be a major threat now in the Tier 2 Country Championship semi-finals where it joins Groups 7, 11 and 20.

nadal wins : built record with win sevent title ....

nadal wins : built record with win sevent title ....

Spain’s Rafa Nadal sank to his knees in celebration after beating Serbia’s Novak Djokovic 6-4 6-3 2-6 7-5 to win a record seventh French Open title on Monday.

The number two seed overtook Sweden’s Bjorn Borg, who won six Roland Garros titles, and ended Djokovic’s hopes of becoming the third man to win four consecutive grand slams.

“For me it is a great honor,” Nadal said, clutching the Musketeers Cup under his arm, after the presentation ceremony on court. “This tournament is probably the most special in the world and having this trophy with me

I am really emotional.

It is probably one of the most special moments in my career.”
Play had been suspended on Sunday, because of rain,

with the Spaniard a break down in the fourth set, but he broke back in the first game after the resumption, having rediscovered the penetrating fizz that deserted him in the damp conditions of the previous evening.

holland vs denmark euro 2012 : coming on

Good afternoon and welcome to Sports Mole's live commentary of the opening match of Group B between Holland and Denmark.

With other group members Germany and Portugal set to go later this evening, the winner here will, at least momentarily, top the group.

The Dutch head into the tournament following an almost faultless qualifying campaign, while the Danes automatically reached the finals from a group that included the likes of Portugal and Norway.

Note that the game gets underway at 5pm.

18.53Portugal and Germany will rubbing their hands in glee at that one! Talking of which, you will be able to follow live commentary of that encounter right here in just over 30 minutes time. Stay tuned and thanks for your company!

18.52One of the biggest shocks in recent European Championships history. Holland have 28 attempts at goal but a single strike from Denmark's Krohn-Dehli was enough for the underdogs to take all three points.

90+3 minFULL TIME: Holland 0-1 Denmark

Germany vs Portugal, Euro 2012: going on

according to http://www.epltalk.com/germany-vs-portugal-euro-2012-open-thread-43702

Germany is always a joy to watch. They’re a well-respected team around the globe, and play with such a purpose and confidence that is lacking in other teams (cough, cough, England).

In their opening Euro 2012 game today, they come up against a Portugal side that has been a shambles in the friendlies before the tournament.

Yes, they have Cristiano Ronaldo, but will he be enough to turn around this Portugese side?

Today’s match is a perfect opportunity for Portugal to get revenge on Germany.

If you remember, Portugal lost to Germany in the Euro 2008 quarter-final. Plus, Portugal lost to Germany in the World Cup 2006 third place match.

Before, during and after today’s Germany versus Portugal match, post your rants, raves, questions and observations in the comments section below.

i ll have another belmont :Bid Is Over During Dan Patrick Show

Despite heavy anticipation that horse racing would have its first Triple Crown winner since Affirmed in 1978,

I'll Have Another is not running the Belmont Stakes on Saturday.

During an interview on the "Dan Patrick Show" on Friday, trainer Doug O'Neill broke the news.

The three-year-old colt owned by Reddam Racing and trained by O'Neill notched thrilling wins at the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes and was the early favorite at the Belmont Stakes.

The surprise scratch is the result of an injury, with O'Neill telling the Dan Patrick Show that the horse "has the start of some tendonitis in the left front leg.”

O'Neill went on to reveal that he doesn't expect the horse to race again.

"The horse is sound and happy, but it's not worth it," O'Neill would later tell The Associated Press.

The New York Racing Association quickly scheduled a press conference for 1 p.m. on Friday. During the press conference held at Belmont Park, it was announced that I'll Have Another is retired from racing.

2-1, In Stanley Cup Final Game 5

Bryce Salvador scored on a deflection off a defenseman and the New Jersey Devils derailed Los Angeles' Stanley Cup coronation for a second time, beating the Kings 2-1 in Game 5 of the finals Saturday night.

Zach Parise ended a five-game goal drought on a rare mistake by goalie Jonathan Quick, and Martin Brodeur stopped 25 shots to help the Devils end the Kings' 10-game postseason winning streak on the road and 12-game run over the past two years, both NHL records.

he Stanley Cup playoffs have become somewhat of a blur for the New Jersey Devils and Los Angeles Kings.

It seemed like yesterday that the regular season came to an end and the teams looked forward with apprehension to meeting Florida and Vancouver in the opening round, respectively.

Sania Mirza - bhupathi : our team for beat

according to times of india :

To close the argument that won him his 12th Grand Slam title Mahesh Bhupathi stepped aside, then leaned into that trusted shot -- his double-fisted backhand -- and let it rip.

After 73-minutes of action on an windy Parisian night, the all-Indian combine of Bhupathi and Sania Mirza clinched their second Grand Slam mixed doubles title as a team, beating the unseeded pairing of Klaudia Jans-Ignacik of Poland and Santiago Gonzalez of Mexico 7-6 (7-3), 6-1 in the French Open final late on Thursday.

The powerful 25-year-old Hyderabadi, who held the team together at the start of the final when Bhupathi seemed to have left his best shots behind in the locker room, promptly declared that the twosome "were the team to beat".

Sania and Bhupathi won their first Grand Slam title together in 2009 (Australian Open) which incidentally was the last major title Bhupathi won before Thursday.

celtics - LeBron James Explodes For 45, Miami Forces Game 7

LeBron James refused to let another season end in Boston.

scored 45 points on 26 shots tonight

"He was absolutely fearless tonight, and it was contagious," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "The way he approached the last 48 hours, and not only LeBron, but everybody else. Nobody likes getting dirt thrown on your face before you're even dead. He showed great resolve."

In the site of some of James' biggest disappointments, the only disappointed ones Thursday were the thousands of fans who hoped to see a celebration but instead filed out of the TD Garden midway through the fourth quarter, just before the league MVP called it a night.

Miami barely won Game 2 before dropping the next three games, but this one was never in doubt. James was a one-man force on what's supposed to be a Big Three, carrying the Heat in the first half while Wade made only 1 of 6 shots.
